RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Preparing engineering documentation in support of vessel design and development.
Resolving design/production problems/deficiencies and provide technical advice to draftspersons. Liaising with Classification Societies, Design Authorities, Contractors and Project Authority on mechanical systems and documentation development. Conducting and reporting on the outcome of technical investigations. Planning and conducting of tests & trials. Reviewing drawings and technical documents. Providing support to production activities. Preparing engineering change proposals (defining scope of work, compiling costs etc). QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Tertiary qualifications required in Mechanical or Marine Engineering. Experience in a Marine Engineering environment; preferably with experience in ship design or In Service Support. Experience in the design and manufacture of metal fabrications. Experience in the specification or development of ship mechanical equipment and systems (e.g. piping systems, HVAC) will be highly regarded.
