Progressive EPCM with a full order book Lead your own projects from initial discussion to site work and erection AutoCAD, Microstation and Solidworks experience required A Lead Mechanical Engineer is needed at a mid-tier EPCM who carries out process, civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation/control design works to the highest standards . Because of their reputation you must have strong experience as, at least Lead, Principal Mechanical Engineer , preferably with a background in fixed price work for an EPC/EPCM . It is imperative that you have strong skills and experience, particularly in gold plants and wet areas . Your key responsibilities will include:
Provide advice and assistance to Project Management teams in the management of the contract/commercial relationship through the contract lifecycle.
Review proposed contracts against the key principles of Downer to ensure the company's commercial and legal requirements are met.
Review contracts at tender stage, through to the negotiation of contractual terms across various types of construction projects.
Review, negotiate, finalise and manage agreements and contractual processes, in order to minimise legal and contractual risks and encourage the most favourable business outcomes.
Involvement in the management and resolution of claims and disputes as required
This role will be most suited to candidates who are degree qualified in Law with a Commercial/Business qualifications viewed as desirable. As the ideal candidate for this role, you will possess significant levels of experience working with construction contracts, with exposure to private practice and in-house legal experience viewed favourably. It is essential that you possess excellent communication skills, with an ability to liaise professionally with a variety of stakeholders (both internal and external). You will have a strong level of negotiation and contract formation skills with exposure to the pre-tender award phase.
